We have many ways where members of our communities can enrich the lives of our residents. Volunteering is a great way for individuals, civic groups, schools and churches to make a significant difference in the lives of our youth and adults. We have four main areas of concentration for volunteering:
Youth Programs
Adult Programs
Events
We are pleased to have a variety of events for our residents and communities. Our events promote awareness and help us raise funds for our programs. We host two 5K races: The Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day and our 5K race on our Lynchburg Campus in June. Zuni and the Kuwayes (“Friends of Zuni”) host our Day in the Country event in April. We have three events on New Year’s Eve in Downtown Lynchburg: New Year’s Amazing Eve, Extreme Teen and Mad Hatter’s Ball. All of our events have and need volunteer assistance to be successful. Volunteers perform a wide array of tasks from decorations to event night hosts/hostesses.

Facilities
We have several hundred acres and many homes/buildings that need Tender Loving Care. Volunteers can help with day to day maintenance needs like landscaping and painting or set out to build a deck, campsite or dock. We can entertain projects both large and small in scale and will provide the needed supplies and assistance if necessary.
Some volunteer roles require applications and background checks be completed.
