When our Zuni, Virginia campus for adults with intellectual disabilities opened in 1967, our clients' life expectancy was less than forty years. Today, we have residents in their sixties who have been with us since we first opened our doors, living rich, full lives. The generosity of our donors and good stewardship of our resources enables Presbyterian Homes & Family Services to provide a lifetime of nurturing care.
A Zuni resident since 1997, Daryl Taylor received a "People Taking Action" award. Daryl lives in the Newbold Apartments on the Zuni Campus.
For Referral Sources:
Breadth and depth of experience. Families and placement agencies trust and rely on our 100 year history of service. The adults placed with us will live in a comfortable group home setting and learn to become as independent as possible. Many individuals work in meaningful jobs, further providing dignity and independence.
Simple admissions process provides our residents with a continuum of care. Our flexible application process allows family members, case managers and advocates to seek placement with personalized and timely response to questions about the programs. We encourage site visits as well.
Individualized case management allows adults in our care to receive services encompassing all major life domains - living arrangements, education, legal, financial, religious, relationships, occupation, health, safety, and family. Our resident to staff ratio assures outstanding care for our adults.

Our experienced staff works in close partnership with church and community resources to help meet all the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of adults entrusted to our care.

The Presbyterian Homes for adults with intellectual disabilities are located in Fredericksburg, Lexington, Lynchburg, South Hill, Waynesboro and Zuni, Virginia.
All homes are licensed by Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation & Substance Abuse Services.
